Montenegro / Pljevlja FUEL SWITCH IN THE INDUSTRIAL WOOD-PROCESSING SECTOR Fuel switching

The objective of the project is the use of biomass instead of fossil fuel, in order to meet the energy requirements of the wood-processing company. The production programme of the company includes cutting construction elements, panels, final products and prefabricated structures. The company has a concession on around 160.000 m3 of forest wood, out of which around 20% stays un-harvested, due to low intensity of production. The forest wood that has not been used in the production process, together with residues generated during the wood processing, could be used for electricity production but also for a fuel switching within the company’s facilities.
