Macedonia / Skopje OPTIMIZATION OF ENERGY EFFICIENCY AT UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL CENTRE OF SKOPJE Energy efficiency
The project activity is related to the implementation of energy efficiency measures and fuel switch in the Clinical Centre in Skopje, located in the central part of the city. The bundled project activity would include the following:
Macedonia / Skopje SUBSTITUTION OF OIL WITH NATURAL GAS AT THE "ZAPAD" THERMAL PLANT IN SKOPJE Fuel switching
This project activity foresees the fuel switching in one of five heating plants in Skopje, owned by the company AD Toplifikacija, from residual fuel oil to natural gas. Since the natural gas has been distributed to Macedonia from Bulgaria through the pipeline network, it is expected that at the end of this year the gasification of the capitol city of Macedonia to be completely finished.
Macedonia / Sveti Nikole WIND FARM PROJECT AT "SVETI NIKOLE" Power generation
This project could be one of the pilot projects regarding the utilization of wind energy for electricity production in the country. The purpose of the proposed project is to contribute to the commercialization of wind energy through the operation of one of the first wind mill in Macedonia using small or large scale wind turbines.
Macedonia / Cicevo, Tetovo COMBINED AWMS METHANE RECOVERY PROJECT Methane recovery
The objective of the project is to reduce GHG emissions caused by the Animal Waste Management Systems currently employed on the “Edinstvo” pig farm in Tetovo and the “Agria Group” pig farm in Veles. The farm manure treatment system is composed of barns` internal sewage systems, mixing tanks and anaerobic lagoons. In the lagoons, the swine manure is partly digested at the ambient temperature by naturally occurring micro organisms and solid phase settles on the bottom of the lagoons.
Macedonia / Makedonska Kamenica BIOMASS UTILIZATION CDM PROJECT ACTIVITY IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF MAKEDONSKA KAMENICA Fuel switching
This project activity foresees an installation of a cogeneration plant within the existing thermal power plant (TPP) in order to produce electricity, 2 MW installed capacity, and heat 10 MW installed capacity. The electricity will be transferred to the national grid and the heat will be transferred to the existing distribution grid in Makedonska Kamenica in order to introduce central heating.
