Minister Clini in Montenegro to launch programs of environmental cooperation

The new Ministry of Environment in Podgorica will be made with "Made in Italy" tecnology
Joint programs between Italy and Montenegro in environmental area and Italian ‘’green’’ investments in the Balkan country today were at the center of the official visit of the Minister of the Environment, Corrado Clini, in Podgorica, Montenegro’s capital city.
The visit to Podgorica is the first official visit abroad of the Minister Corrado Clini who met Prime Minister of Montenegro Igor Lukšić and Minister of the Environment, Predrag Sekulić, along with the Ambassadors Sergio Barbanti and Vojin Vlahović.
’’Italy’’ – Clini said during the meeting with Prime Minister Lukšić – ’’confirms its commitment to support the membership of Montenegro in the European Union.’’
Among the outgoing projects, the most important is the construction of the new building of the Montenegrin Ministry of Environment: eco-efficient building that will be built in 2 years by Italian companies with the best and most advanced ‘’green’’ technologies’’. The project, valued at 13 million €, is financed in part by the Italian Ministry of the Environment.
Other initiatives that involve the Ministry together with the Italian companies are:
- Fields of energy and renewable resources;
- Sustainable tourism on the coast and in the mountains (Žabljak, Cheese routes in Kolašin);
- ‘’Green’’ mobility in cities Perast and Kotor;
- Assistance to harmonize the environmental legislation with European, in the preparation of Montenego accession to EU;
- Collaboration in waste management energy obtained from biogas;
- Establishment of the first marine reserve from the coast line between Budva and Petrovac.
‘’The partnership with Montenegro’’ – Minister Clini said – ‘’represents an important part of Italian strategy that sees fundamental thing in international cooperation in environmental area to expand ‘’green’’ technologies Made in Italy, contributing to sustainable development and growth of Italian professionalism and business related to green economy.’’
